Prime Minister Meets EF! Activists
Later the same day, the women’s group went to greet John Major as he visited the Lotus car factory at Hethel, Norfolk. Activists assembled at the entrance to the plant. One woman climbed on top of a security portacabin, then unfurled a banner calling for an end to road budding and investment in public transport. She was removed by the police before the prime minister’s car arrived. A number of workers left the factory to watch the action. Women were carried off the driveway to allow Major’s entourage to pass. The local press reported the event as the PM’s first encounter with direct action.
Only ONE person on the camp all the time. Camp recently attacked by vandals. Mobile phone stolen. Actions still happening, including some epic crane-sits. As many people as possible, needed! 0603 484753.
