Yep they are still there!! Ignore all the media lies and mainstream peace movement censorship, NVDA is regularly happening at the base and on the 14th-16th February there were nine women in court for criminal damage at A.W.E. Aldermaston, an evil place which has already contaminated surrounding public land with levels of radioactive plutonium 20 times the regulatory minimum, and is working every day towards genocide and utter ecological destruction. Recent sentences have ranged from 5 months imprisonment for £125 worth of damage to conditional discharges for other offences.

In their defence women represented themselves basing their defence on the 1971 Criminal Justice Act proving “lawful excuse” in the interests of immediate planetary protection. Also, the Genocide Act was presented, and the fact that there are ancient footpaths leading across Aldermaston which women felt they had a right to gain access to, and strangely enough there was a fence in the way.... (the moral being, always take a map and a pair of bolt-cutters when out for a walk in the English countryside).
